"On June 1st, 2014, East Brentwood Fire Department was dispatched to a reported motor vehicle accident where a patient was thrown from an ATV. Within minutes, the ambulance and two chiefs were on scene. The ambulance’s crew worked quickly to stabilize the patient. They transported the unresponsive patient from the road into the ambulance where the quick actions of the crew aided in the patient’s recovery.  While performing advanced life support and assisting the patient’s breathing Suffolk County Aviation was requested. The patient was rapidly transported to the nearest hospital where definitive care was established. This patient received the highest level of care by the members of the East Brentwood Fire Department and was discharged from the hospital to return to normal activities with her family.  Today, April 11th, 2015, the chief’s office would like to thank the crew for their hard work and effort for saving the life of another."

"On June 1st, 2014 I was in a tragic ATV accident. These firemen amongst others saved my life. I would like to express my gratitude and appreciation to these men and all other fireman who selflessly and courageously put their lives on the line everyday to help others. Although I do not have any memory of this accident, I will forever be grateful to these heroes of our community. Amongst the odds against me I did survive and although I know there were many others who contributed to my survival, I know it all started with these firemen. They not only saved my life but most importantly to me, my family. They saved my children the grief of losing a mother, my husband a wife, my parents a daughter and my siblings a sister and for that on behalf of myself and my family we sincerely thank you for your quick actions which allowed me to be here today to thank you and for all of the greatness you will continue to do. You are a blessing and angels to our community. Thank you."
